  1. Description: Gate Fold, Two sided brochure
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I started by making the front of the brochure. This was easy enough. I put two copies of the same image, only different halves of the image, and placed them within the boundary marks I’d set previously. After that I made the rest of the inside and outside bits of the brochure the same blue that is on the lions on the flag. After this I began placing photos of beautiful places in Jersey and aligning them with the four corners on the inside of the brochure. On the inside I also added my text boxes and took a few tries with different fonts and sizes to get them to fit just right. Later on I proceeded to cut out a but of the island of Jersey in the middle of the pamphlet. After that I did the same thing to the cow and placed him on the back of the pamphlet. After adding in all other text I needed, I placed my logo in the top right corner in the back.To make the logo, I drew out a bean and placed words inside of it. It was a simple design really but took me a few tries to get it right. I thought the design was appropriate because if you are born on the island of Jersey you are called a “Jersey Bean”. I thought it was appropriate for a historical society.
After placing the logo on the back I wrapped the text around it and made any other quick fixes I needed to make. After a few printing attempts, it turned out really nice. It was a long process.
  3. Message: To inform readers/tourists about Jersey and why they should visit.
  4. Audience: Any and all tourists
  5. Top Thing Learned: How to cut out images from their original frames. I’d never really done it in this way before and then had to make it part of the brochure. Once I got the hang of it the whole thing turned out really nice.
